Welcome to Pavi Tailoring Institute

For nearly a decade, Pavi Tailoring Institute has taught tailoring, embroidery and fashion design to students in Tambaram — many of them women looking to earn from a skill they can practise at home, at their own pace, on their own terms. We teach the craft properly, from the first straight seam to finished garments and hand embroidery. Aari work with zari is our particular strength, and it is a skill that pays: a tailor who can do fine aari embroidery commands a different rate from one who cannot. Our courses are government-recognised, and several are shaped around employment — including training for work in the export garments industry. You do not need prior experience to start. You need time, patience and the willingness to unpick a seam and do it again.

Tailoring Training Programme
